No Deportations to Togo or somewhere else!

On 10th of October 2006 the six-month deportation-stop to Togo has expired in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Since then the pressure on Togolese refugees has become stronger again: On 29th of November several refugees were deported from Düsseldorf to Ghana and Togo. In Mecklenburg-Vorpommern several refugees were asked to go to the Togolese embassy in Berlin at 15th of December. In Ludwigslust one Togolese was arrested on the Ausländerbehörde and put into deportation-prison. Actually he wanted to marry. Therefore he was obliged to hand out his passport to the authorities. Additionally there is some rumour that on 22nd of December a further deportation-charter is supposed to go to West Africa. So far it was not possible to confirm this particular information.

Not only refugees from Togo, but all refugees are right at the moment threatened by deportation – whether they are from Afghanistan, Irak or the Ivory Coast. Therefore we ask all refugees in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern to demonstrate with us on 18th of December. Our central demands are: EQUAL RIGHTS TO EVERYBODY! PAPERS FOR EVERYBODY!

Apart from that we are going to demonstrate on 18th of December against the racism which we are confronted with each day – be it on the street, in the train or in the tram.

With our demonstration we are going to take up our actions on 7th of October in Hamburg and on 10th of November in Rostock. We have the hope that our resistance is becoming stronger again and that the political links between refugees in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is growing as well. Because this is the only chance to resist successfully against the daily deportation-terror.

The demonstration starts at 2 p.m. in front of the station in Schwerin. We will go through the inner city area and a short stop will be made in front of the Interior Ministry as well. The travel costs for Mecklenburg-Vorpommern-tickets will be paid for by NoLager. Please look for the cheapest possibilities, for example by travelling in groups with the Mecklenburg-Vopommern-Ticket.
