After an agreement was signed between the Iranian state and the five Security Council members of the United Nations, i.e. China, England, France, Russia, USA, and the sixth economic power Germany the press celebrated the compromise. Immediately thereafter the delegations of the aforementioned states together with representatives of their national big enterprises visited Iran to divide the cake. In times of slow economic growth the hunger for investing capital in Iran is big and every company or country wants to be first.

At the same time many Iranians, especially the youth, leave the country and search for a better life outside of the country. Iranian refugees comprise one of the biggest communities in Germany.

Therefore we are delighted to have the chance to invite one of our fellow refugees Behzad Razmahang to give us an introduction to the current country’s social and political situation and share with us why people leave Iran. In the discussion we might learn that economical prosperity measured as absolute or average numbers does not tell anything about the wealth of a society nor the satisfaction of people in any society. We might discuss as well that human rights or any kind of political or ethnical freedom are maybe only slogans to expand the sphere of economic influence and are slaughtered to gain more profit.
