Lutherstadt Wittenberg: Refugees are Denied Health Insurance Card and Working permit

Refugees that presented their official documents in Lutherstadt Wittenberg are denied health insurance card and working permit for so many years. This mentality of repression that exists within the circle of the responsible authority in charge of refugees affairs is questionable.

Health Insurance card and working permit are used as an object of repression to refugees. Although, the introduction of the new law „Asylbewerberleistungsgesetz“ regulates its application.1 How it is applied in Lutherstadt Wittenberg is contrary and § 2 paragraph 1 is used as a pretext. Refugees are divided - those that presented their official document to denied heath insurance card and working permit and those that did not present official document to accord heath insurance card and working permit-.

This exposes refugees to health danger because of bureaucratic processes in view of getting health insurance voucher each time they are sick. A sick refugee has no time and energy to travel long distance in search of heath insurance voucher.

We criticize this kind of mentality and implementation strategy applied by the responsible authority in Lutherstadt Wittenberg.

We demand health insurance card to all refugees without arbitration! Health insurance card and working permit to all refugees!
